Coalition Awarded Funding from DentaQuest Foundation for Medical-Dental Integration

Coalition awarded funding to implement road map to improve medical-dental collaboration and education

Throughout the last year, over 100 organizations and individuals (you!) have shared knowledge and time to create a plan that, when implemented, will reinforce the truism 'oral health is integral to overall health' by improving collaboration among medical and dental professionals.

I am thrilled to announce that the Virginia Oral Health Coalition has been awarded funding from the DentaQuest Foundation to continue our efforts and implement the plan. 'The implementation phase has officially begun!'

The final plan was overseen by the Design Team highlighted to the left. It is centered on the belief that, if primary care providers receive information, education and training about oral health and oral health prevention services, and if they practice in an environment conducive to collaboration, they are more likely to provide oral health prevention services and referrals to a dental home.
