Matt Jones serves as the Virginia Oral Health Coalition's Program Manager, working closely with the Executive Director to oversee the Perinatal and Infant Oral Health Quality Improvement initiative and our workforce learning collaborative. As such, he works to improve oral health care and health care access for all Virginians by coordinating training opportunities for care providers, facilitating cross-discipline partnerships, advocating for greater access to oral health care for low-income and rural families, and promoting greater oral health integration into general medical practice. Matt earned his Master in Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. While there, he interned at the Podium Foundation, a non-profit agency teaching writing, public speaking, and self-expression to middle and high school youth in Richmond City schools. There he served as an evaluator, program developer, operations advisor, and site supervisor.
You can find him some nights during the week volunteering at The Bridge, teaching a citizenship class to students eager to become U.S. citizens. Otherwise, he might be at the Diamond taking in a Squirrels game, or simply on his porch, enjoying the company of his wife and guinea pigs.
