FIND DENTAL CARE

Looking for Dental Care?

For many across the Commonwealth, finding affordable dental care can be a challenge. Whether you do not have dental insurance, cannot afford care, or have trouble accessing services, we're here to be your advocate.

Use the following information to search for a dental provider in Virginia or learn more about dental coverage options.

I do not have dental insurance

If you or your child are uninsured, start here at the Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF); the VHCF maintains a database of dental safety net clinics that provide free or income-based care for uninsured Virginians.

My child has Medicaid coverage

In Virginia, children enrolled in Medicaid have access to comprehensive dental coverage. If your child has Medicaid coverage, find a dental provider through the DentaQuest website or by calling 1.888.912.3456.

I am an adult enrolled in Medicaid

At this time Virginia's Medicaid program only covers emergency extractions for adults. To find care for non-emergency visits, go to the Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF) website; the VHCF maintains a database of dental safety net clinics that provide free or income-based care for uninsured Virginians.

If you have Medicaid coverage, your health plan may offer enhanced dental benefits. Learn more through our FAQs for those enrolled in CCC+ and Medallion.

The Virginia Oral Health Coalition is continuing to advocate for a comprehensive dental benefit in Medicaid. Learn more about our efforts, and how to tell your representatives about the value of adding preventive and restorative dental benefits in Medicaid.

I am pregnant and enrolled in Medicaid

Virginia Medicaid covers comprehensive dental services for enrolled pregnant women. If you are pregnant and enrolled in Medicaid, find a dental provider through the DentaQuest website or by calling 1.888.912.3456.
